LONE PEAK

A few days ago, I took the snow capped photo of Lone Peak from the 1-15 Freeway just before Thanksgiving Point. From this angle you can actually see the pinnacle of Lone Peak. 

To give you a better sense of the actual peak that you climb to get to the top of Lone Peak.. here are a photos from our hike last year around the Fall Equinox with my friend, Angel Cicero.

Today is my beautiful wife's Birthday. Yesterday our mailman told her that she was "Divine". Not sure how I felt about our mailman calling her that... but he later clarified by saying that we are all "divine". Well, I agree, my wife is Divine... just don't like other men telling her that. :)

One this day, I want to tell her how grateful I am for all that she is and does. We have know each other for over 30 years, when I was in 8th grade and she was a new 7th grader. I am looking forward to the next 30 plus years together.

 I Love you and Happy Birthday. Hopefully dinner tastes as good as Outback tonight. :)

EASTER SUNDAY

My incredible wife once again made our daughters' Easter dresses. She is an amazing woman.

We had a beautiful Easter Sunday. No longer does the Easter bunny come to our home,

but "Easter Angels" instead.

WINTER SOLSTICE MORNING: 12.21.2012

Today was predicted  to be the "End of the World".

The Mayan Calendar supposedly ended today.

To "observe" this day,  I went for a very early, very dark, and very cold hike

to the top of some mountains above Salt Lake City.

Early morning twilight with the planet and stars still visible.

The lesser lights make way for the greater light.. the sun.

....................

At exactly 8:00 AM (the number 8 is symbolic),

the sun began to rise above the peak of a mountain in the distance.
Instead of the world ending, it actually is a beginning. The beginning of a new Day.

LIVE NATIVITY

 My family and I went to a live nativity last night that is put on by a stake in Salt Lake City. Tonight is the last night it will be held. Several couples who recently had a baby are selected to play Mary and Joseph with their newborn.  The nativity is complete with live camels, sheep, goats, and donkeys. The stake that puts this on does a wonderful job and only do this every other year.

If you are interesting in going, the stake center that is located at is 11700 South and 700 West. Runs from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
